Parrot Bliss Nursery

All the Macaw, Half the Space

Hahn's Macaws are the smallest macaw species — and the most accessible. Apartment-friendly in size, full-macaw in personality, they talk, bond intensely, and bring the presence of a large parrot into a compact, manageable package. Hand-raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. You may also see them called Hans Macaws, or by their formal name, the Red-shouldered Macaw.

The Philosophy of the Sanctuary

Hahn's Macaws deserve the same standard of care given to their larger cousins. We raise each baby with intention — hand-feeding, socializing, and step-up training — so they arrive in their new home already confident and human-trusting.

/
Full-Macaw Care: We treat our Hahn's with the same depth of attention we would give a Blue and Gold. Small size does not mean lesser care.
/
Daily Handling: Every baby is handled from hatch — building the trust that makes macaws such extraordinary companions.
/
Step-Up Training: Our Hahn's leave fully comfortable stepping up and tolerating gentle handling by multiple people.
/
Honest Matching: Hahn's Macaws need real engagement. We place each bird with families that understand and are ready for that commitment.

“A well-raised Hahn's Macaw is as loyal as any large parrot — in a form that fits your home.”

The Hand-Fed Bond

Hahn's Macaws form fierce, loyal bonds with their people. Hand-raising from hatch produces birds that actively seek out their humans, talk back, and become genuine family members.

Socialization

Our babies are handled by multiple people daily — the result is a bird comfortable with the whole family, not just one person.

Vocabulary Foundation

Hahn's Macaws are strong talkers. We expose nestlings to clear, repeated speech — many start mimicking before they leave the nursery.

Common Questions

Where can I find Hahn's Macaws for sale near me?

Parrot Bliss breeds hand-raised Hahn's Macaws in West Palm Beach, Florida — in Palm Beach County. We ship throughout the US via Delta Airlines Cargo. Call (561) 328-4944 to check current availability.

How much does a Hahn's Macaw cost?

Our hand-raised Hahn's Macaws are priced from $2,750–$3,250. This includes weaning care, a care sheet, a starter food supply, and a health guarantee.

Are Hahn's Macaws loud?

Hahn's Macaws are louder than conures but quieter than large macaws. They vocalize regularly and have a sharp contact call, but lack the truly ear-splitting volume of a Blue and Gold or Scarlet Macaw.

Are Hahn's Macaws good for beginners?

They are more manageable than large macaws in terms of space and feeding costs, but they still require significant daily interaction and mental stimulation. We recommend them for people who have owned parrots before or who are committed to doing the research first.

Do Hahn's Macaws talk?

Yes — Hahn's Macaws are excellent talkers for their size. They develop clear, intelligible vocabularies and speak with surprising volume and clarity.

How long do Hahn's Macaws live?

Hahn's Macaws can live 30+ years with proper care. Bringing one home is a decades-long commitment — they will be part of your family for a very long time.

Do you ship Hahn's Macaws to other states?

Yes — we ship throughout the United States via Delta Airlines Cargo.

What is your health guarantee?

My health guarantee is 3 to 5 days from pickup or delivery, with 5 days on weekends. If an avian-certified vet, or one with documented extensive bird experience, diagnoses an undisclosed pre-existing condition in that window, I work with you on a replacement or refund depending on the situation. It does not cover injuries after pickup, exposure to other pets or wild birds, improper diet or care, or normal adjustment stress.

How old are Hahn's Macaws when they come home?

Hahn's Macaws usually come home at 12 to 14 weeks old. I only let a baby leave when fully weaned, meaning they are eating a variety of solid foods completely on their own with no formula or hand-feeding. Every baby is different, so I use a range instead of a fixed date, and I never rush weaning.

How do I reserve a Hahn's Macaw?

A Hahn's Macaw is reserved only when I have both a signed contract and a deposit. Nothing is held without both in place. The deposit amount depends on species, so contact me for the Hahn's figure. Deposits are non-refundable unless I cannot provide the bird reserved. The remaining balance is due at pickup, or before shipping is arranged.

How much does it cost to ship a Hahn's Macaw?

Shipping a Hahn's Macaw costs $250 because Hahn's count as a larger parrot. That covers the airline fee, USDA-compliant crate, and all food and supplies for the trip, with no markup from me. I only ship when temperatures are appropriate at both ends and no extreme weather is forecast; otherwise, I reschedule.

What Our Families Say

Kaylin and her daughter are incredibly gifted with raising birds. It is hard to find someone you trust who hand feeds and socializes their birds since the day they hatch. My Parrotlets are a delight, and have taken to us immediately because of the care they received as babies.

My linnie arrived safely via shipment, and healthy at vet. She was very helpful in answering my many questions. I only wish I had gotten the green baby, but something happened. Would use her again and always watch her videos!!

I purchased a linnie from Kaylyn in 2026 and she was wonderful to work with! She was polite, informative and super responsive. I can tell she really cares about the welfare of the birds & isn't just "selling birds". Will for sure use her again if we end up getting another bird.

Just picked up our baby sun conure from Parrot Bliss. We have never had a baby before always older conure's that need a lot of time and patience but this little guy is showing us so much love and patience we cannot believe this would be so easy. He is the most loving little guy and even did his first visit to the Doc and they fell in love instantly. Definitely shows how much love and care was put into getting him started. We would definately recommend Kalyn if your thinking of getting a bird and honestly we are ready for another!
