Lineonlated Parakeets

Linnie parakeets, or Bolborhynchus lineola, are amazing, sweet and wonderful companion parrots. However, because they are not well-known, we only breed them by request.
Getting your Linnie with us means you’ll get to see your Linnie on YouTube as you wait for your baby to be old enough to eat on it’s own and come home to you ❤️

Parrot Description

Linnie parakeets, also known as Lineolated Parakeets, are small in size, measuring around 6 to 7 inches. Native to Central and South America, they thrive in lush foliage. With a lifespan of 10 to 15 years, these charming birds make delightful companions for those who appreciate their playful demeanor and vibrant colors.

Environment Requirements

Linnie parakeets require a spacious cage, ideally at least 24 inches wide, 18 inches deep, and 24 inches tall to accommodate their active nature. Bar spacing should be no wider than 1/2 inch to prevent accidents. Maintain temperatures between 65-80°F, avoiding drafts to ensure their comfort and well-being.

Diet & FUN

Linnie parakeets flourish on a diverse diet including high-quality pellets, fresh veggies, supplemented with occasional seeds. A great form of enrichment comes in leafy greens, which would surround them in the wild.
With their sociable nature, they thrive with companionship, enjoying human interaction and another bird, preferably another Linnie! Providing toys and regular interaction is vital for their mental stimulation and overall well-being.
