Why Florida Is an Easy State for Quaker Owners

Quaker Parrots are prohibited outright in eleven states and need a permit in four more, because their large stick nests can damage power infrastructure. Florida has no such restriction — you can own a Quaker here with no permit at all, which makes buying from a Florida breeder simpler than importing one across a state line.

What a Florida Quaker Costs

Our hand-raised Quaker Parrots are priced from $400–$800. That includes weaning care, a care sheet, a starter food supply, and a health guarantee. Local pickup costs nothing beyond the bird.

The Talking Is the Point

Quakers are excellent talkers. They develop clear, intelligible vocabularies and often use words in context, and are consistently ranked among the best talkers in the small-to-medium parrot category.

Noise, Honestly

Quakers are vocal — they chatter, mimic and call throughout the day. Louder than a parrotlet or linnie, quieter than a sun conure or macaw. Most owners find the noise engaging rather than disruptive.

What is the 3-3-3 rule for parrots?
The 3-3-3 rule — 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn the routine, 3 months to feel at home — comes from rescue and rehoming, where birds arrive with unknown histories. A hand-fed Quaker Parrot baby that has been handled daily since hatch usually settles far faster, because the trust is already built. Expect the first few days to still be quiet while your Quaker learns your household.

Kaylin and her daughter are incredibly gifted with raising birds. It is hard to find someone you trust who hand feeds and socializes their birds since the day they hatch. My Parrotlets are a delight, and have taken to us immediately because of the care they received as babies.

My linnie arrived safely via shipment, and healthy at vet. She was very helpful in answering my many questions. I only wish I had gotten the green baby, but something happened. Would use her again and always watch her videos!!

I purchased a linnie from Kaylyn in 2026 and she was wonderful to work with! She was polite, informative and super responsive. I can tell she really cares about the welfare of the birds & isn't just "selling birds". Will for sure use her again if we end up getting another bird.

Just picked up our baby sun conure from Parrot Bliss. We have never had a baby before always older conure's that need a lot of time and patience but this little guy is showing us so much love and patience we cannot believe this would be so easy. He is the most loving little guy and even did his first visit to the Doc and they fell in love instantly. Definitely shows how much love and care was put into getting him started. We would definately recommend Kalyn if your thinking of getting a bird and honestly we are ready for another!
